Praise and Worship Service The purpose of the Praise and Worship service is to offer songs of praise and worship for the glory of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, with specific focus on prayer, healing and thanksgiving. The service is casual, less structured than a traditional Anglican Sunday service and provides for testifiers to share their walk with Jesus. Music ranges from popular Christian songs, Vineyard, Hillsong and International songs to Gospel and contemporized Anglican hymns, with various rhythms and styles. Contact
Meeting Information
Description The Praise and Worship service was initiated as a healing service in the early 90's and has grown from a small group of parishioners to a regular congregation of 70 or more people. A multi-generational service, we worship in faith and hope, trusting that God hears our prayers and that by the power of His Holy Spirit we will be released from our burdens and restored to wholeness. The service is filled with prayer and the joy of worshipping. Our praise music is led by a group of enthusiastic singers, accompanied by Raymond Cheong on Clavinova, Alan Bacchus on guitar and Ray Maltese on saxophone. The words of each song and the presentation of the homily are projected on to an overhead screen so that the service is easy to follow and welcoming for everyone. At each service, you will hear a testimony of someone's experience of what God has done in his or her life. These stories come from the heart and we are often moved to tears and/or to laughter! The service continues with a reading from scripture and the homily. Each month we are delighted to welcome a guest preacher and we are inspired and challenged by their proclamation of God's Word. The service also includes a time of anointing with oil for those who desire it "as the Holy Scriptures teach us that in acts of healing and restoration that our Lord Jesus Christ and his disciples laid hands upon the sick and anointed them." In addition, members of the congregation are invited to pray in confidence with members of our prayer team, raising before God personal concerns and intercessions. In true St. Timothy's style, at the end of our service, everyone is welcome to join in fellowship and savour delicious snacks! Click here for the Saturday Night Schedule. |
